Built for content creators, this is a workhorse camera more than capable of handling everything from high-speed action photography to daily vlogs to full multimedia coverage of events.

New Partially Stacked Sensor and Upgraded Processing

33MP Exmor RS CMOS Full-Frame Sensor

The first Sony camera to feature a partially stacked sensor, the a7 V’s 33MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor offers faster readout speeds and reduced rolling shutter compared to the a7 IV. Coupled with a new processor, this sensor also enables a handful of flagship-level benefits, including more advanced subject recognition and tracking, faster continuous shooting performance, and improved image quality with 16 stops of dynamic range. The sensor offers a native ISO range of 100-51200 and the partially stacked design also contributes to a faster 1/16,000-sec top electronic shutter speed.

BIONZ XR2 Processor

Another contributor to the increased speed and overall performance, the new BIONZ XR2 processor incorporates an AI unit for enhanced autofocus, better color accuracy, and greater auto white balance consistency from frame to frame.

The increased processing efficiency also enables blackout-free 30 fps continuous shooting, with full-time AF and AE, as well as 7K-oversampled 4K 60p video recording and high-speed 4K 120p recording using a S35 area.

Pre-Capture & Speed Boost

Along with the key technology delivered by the sensor, the a7 V brings additional features to unlock the camera’s full potential.

Pre-Capture: The a7 V can be configured to begin recording images to the buffer when the shutter button is half-pressed. Users can set this between 0.03-1.0 second. Upon pressing the shutter these images will be saved to the memory card.
Speed Boost: This function can be assigned to Function button, allowing users to instantly switch their usual continuous shooting frame rate to a faster one to make sure their next shot is just right. Photographers will be able to select various frame rates up to 30 fps.

Selectable Raw File Types and Composite RAW Function

The partially stacked sensor and improved processing also permit more flexibility when working with raw files:

Compressed HQ raw, lossless compressed raw, and a new lightweight raw format are available to suit different priorities, ranging from the ultimate image quality and editing flexibility to more efficient files that prioritize saving on storage space.
Extended raw file processing is possible via the Imaging Edge desktop app.
The Composite RAW function allows you to capture and composite on your computer 4, 8, or 16 sequential files, taken at 30 fps, to produce HDR images with reduced noise, especially at higher ISO values.

5-Axis Image Stabilization

Upgraded from its predecessor, the in-body image stabilization system has been revised to support up to 7.5 stops of camera shake compensation in the center of the frame and 6.5 stops at the periphery. This 5-axis stabilization system combines a high-performance gyro sensor with an optimized algorithm for more precise shake control and improved communication between the camera body and lens.

Upgraded AF and AI Subject Recognition

The autofocus performance of the a7 V is a key area of improvement over previous generations; borrowing from the flagship camera, the a7 V now sports an AI Processing Unit and refined subject detection and tracking. The phase-detection AF system itself still comprises 759 points, which cover about 94% of the sensor area, and support focusing down to -4 EV. Subject tracking and subject detection is improved, too, specifically how the camera is 30-50% faster to recognize animals and birds compared to the a7 IV.

First seen in the a7R V, a9 III, and the a1 II, the a7 V sports a dedicated AI Processing Unit for refined, responsive, and intelligent subject tracking and detection of humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes.
Human pose estimation tracks body and head positions for accurate focus in portraiture and sports settings and Real-time Eye AF performance refines this and prioritizes focus on recognized eyes.

Additionally, human pose estimation can distinguish between multiple people and maintain focus on the targeted subject; even if someone crosses in front, the camera maintains focus on the key person.
Real-time Tracking benefits from AI-based subject recognition for following moving subjects, making it particularly well-suited to sports and action subjects.
Auto Subject Recognition modes no longer necessitate selecting a subject type, letting the camera detect and track the intended subject.
XS and XL focus area spot sizes have been added for more versatility or you can customize AF focus areas to suit uniquely sized or shaped subjects.
Full-time DMF (Direct Manual Focus) enables using the lens’s focus ring for manual focus control at any time, making it easier to switch focus to a different subject even when working with AF.

Video Recording

7K Oversampled 4K Recording

Making use of the high-resolution sensor and fast processing capabilities, UHD 4K 60p XAVC HS 10-bit recording is possible using the full width of the sensor, offering 7K full pixel readout for impressive sharpness and realism.
If using a Super 35 crop, high-speed recording is possible at up to UHD 4K 120p or FHD 240p for slow-motion playback.

Recording Flexibility

Extended recording times are possible thanks to efficient heat dissipation—a unique Sigma-shaped graphite heatsink is built into the stabilization unit and improves thermal consistency during extended clips.
With respect to audio recording during video, the a7 V supports internal 24-bit recording and up to 4-channel audio with compatible external microphones.
A new audio reference mic aids in noise reduction and there is a selectable wind-noise reduction control when working with the internal mic.

Dynamic Active stabilization adds substantial electronic correction on top of IBIS for more steady footage while running, walking, or recording handheld tracking shots.
Support for Breathing Compensation mode, which reduces the effects of focus breathing when using select lenses.
AI subject recognition, gained from the AI Processing Unit, benefits the Framing Stabilizer mode, which can be used to automatically crop and recompose so the subject remains centered in the image.

Advanced Color Control

S-Cinetone can be used to deliver distinct colors and healthy-looking skin tone rendering that matches many FX-series and a-series cameras and is based on technology from the professional Cinema Line cameras, such as the VENICE. This color profile offers natural mid-tones, soft colors, and especially well-controlled highlights.
S-Log3 is also available for producing a 15+-stop dynamic range with increased grading control in the shadow to mid-tone regions of the image.
Users can also import LUTs via Creators’ Cloud for accurate monitoring while recording.

Sporting a new, more functional LCD design, the a7 V has a 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor that combines the best assets of both tilting and side-open/flip-out vari-angle designs.
This 3.2″ 2.1m-dot LCD also has a touchscreen design and a DCI-P3 wide gamut for accurate color monitoring.
An impressive Quad VGA OLED EVF features a 3.68m-dot resolution and 0.78x magnification for bright, clear, and detailed eye-level viewing.
The EVF offers 120 fps playback for smooth motion rendering and the brightness and color can both be adjusted if needed.

Full-size HDMI A port offers a more reliable connection when working with external recorders.

Image Quality, Autofocus, and 4K Video

26MP APS-C Exmor R CMOS Sensor and BIONZ XR Processor

Similar to the sensor found on the FX30 or a6700 flagship, the ZV-E10 II has an APS-C-format 26MP Exmor CMOS sensor for smooth, nuanced image quality with minimal noise. A high sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000 can be further expanded to ISO 102400 for increased low-light performance. The sensor works in tandem with an upgraded BIONZ XR processor for 8x faster performance with an increased 5.6K oversampling area.

Increased Phase Detection

The ZV-E10 II has fast-hybrid 759-point phase detection and subject-recognition algorithms for improved subject recognition. Real-time Eye AF can prioritize focusing on human or animal eyes for ensured sharpness when making portraits. When selected, this function is activated by half-pressing the shutter button, and you can further choose to prioritize either the right or left eye. Real-time tracking utilizes AI-based algorithms and automatically recognizes and tracks moving subjects. If Face/Eye Priority AF is on, this tracking method will further track a subject’s eye or face in real-time depending on the status of the moving subject.

4K Video Recording

UHD 4K video recording is possible up to 60p and uses full pixel readout with 5.6K oversampling to yield greater detail with reduced moiré and aliasing. Full HD 1080p recording is also supported in frame rates up to 120 fps, and both resolutions utilize the 600 Mb/s XAVC HS and XAVC S-I formats with 4:2:2 sampling. The camera includes S-Cinetone and S-Log 3 color, which make for better grading control and full utilization of the 14-stop dynamic range. You can also assign LUTs or use the Creative Looks mode to apply preset color effects to your footage while shooting.

Larger Battery Capacity

In order to accommodate the NP-FZ100 battery, the ZV-E10 II now has a slightly larger body design while still maintaining an overall compact form factor for portability. When using the NP-FZ100 battery, you can now record approximately 610 shots per charge for a 30% increase over the previous model. Back-illuminated 24.2MP11 full-frame sensor

The 35 mm full-frame Exmor R™ CMOS image sensor features 24.2-megapixel11 resolution, back illumination, and gapless on-chip lens design for extraordinary sensitivity and dynamic range. Two times faster12 data readout speed is achieved through copper wires and front-end LSI.

Entirely enhanced image processing system

A combination of new-generation image processing system and a new sensor achieves an up to 1.5-stop improvement12 in image quality. A wide ISO sensitivity range of up to ISO 51200 is standard, and approx. up to 15-stop13 dynamic range at low sensitivity settings is achieved. Upgraded Detail Reproduction and Area-specific Noise Reduction combine to suppress noise and maintain a sense of high overall resolution. Color reproduction, especially of skin and nature scenes, has also been dramatically improved. The α7 III also supports 14-bit RAW output14 even during silent shooting/continuous shooting15.

Wider, faster, more steadfast AF performance

An evolved image processing system and α9 camera AF algorithms optimized for the α7 III improve AF speed, precision, and tracking performance. 693 phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points provide high-density wide-area coverage. AF speed up to twice as fast16 and more precise AF tracking performance let you capture and maintain focus on a quickly moving subject in unpredictable motion. The α7 III also autofocuses reliably down to EV-3 brightness17.

Focal-plane phase-detection AF supports A-mount lenses18

Phase-detection AF can operate even when an A-mount lens18 is mounted to the α7 III via an LA-EA3 adaptor. The 693-point focal-plane phase-detection AF system provides wide-area coverage, fast response, and high-performance tracking.

Eye AF now supporting AF-C

Eye AF newly supports AF-C mode with greater precision that dramatically enhances portrait shooting, plus higher AF speed that makes it easier to shoot a portrait of a moving subject, even if the subject looks down and away from the camera or is backlit with face in partial darkness. The α7 III supports Eye AF for A-mount lenses19 mounted via an adaptor.

AF-ON button and multi-selector

The new AF-ON button activates autofocus without any half-press-shutter-button focus sequence, so you can concentrate better on exactly when to release the shutter and capture the moment instantly. A multi-selector lets you shift the point of focus quickly and efficiently. You can select and shift the point of focus intuitively, so you won’t miss great chances to shoot moving subjects.

Comprehensive AF convenience

AF tracking sensitivity when shooting stills is adjustable in five steps for subjects that move outside of the focus area. Autofocus areas and points remain the same or change when switching between horizontal and vertical orientations, depending on the shooting situation. AF area registration allows frequently used focus point settings to be memorized and assigned to custom buttons for fast, convenient recall at a touch whenever needed.

Up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking20

With new shutter charge unit and image processing system refinements, the α7 III can shoot continuously at up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking20 (up to 8fps20 with minimal display lag in live-view continuous shooting mode) for easy, stable shooting of even intensely active subjects. Up to approximately 177 JPEG images (standard) in full resolution, 89 compressed RAW images, or 40 uncompressed RAW images can be captured in one continuous burst21. An electronic shutter allows silent, vibration-free shooting of wildlife and other sensitive situations when even slight noise can mean missing an ideal shot.

Enhanced operability for continuous shooting

Images captured in continuous shooting mode can be displayed as a group. Groups can be deleted or protected in one quick operation. Furthermore, with higher burst capacity and UHS-II media compatibility, the camera significantly streamlines the operation of writing data to memory cards. The Fn button and menu button can be operated to change settings immediately after continuous shooting, while data writing is in progress22.

Anti-flicker shooting23

Flicker from fluorescent and other artificial lighting is automatically detected and shutter action is timed to minimize the flicker’s effect on still images. This suppresses exposure and color anomalies at the top and bottom of images shot at high shutter speeds, as well as exposure and color inconsistency between continuous shots, so you can take images indoors with more confidence.

Clear, natural, realistic 4K movies24

High-resolution full-frame 4K movies24 with full-pixel readout without pixel binning that condenses approximately 2.4 times25 the amount of data required for 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) results in minimal moiré and jaggies. Advanced image processing makes it possible to record full-frame 4K movies with outstanding image quality in the mid-to-high ISO range, so you make the most of the 4K movie format’s unique potential in every shot. Super 35 mm can also be selected, instead of full-frame mode, as needed.

Supports a wide range of needs in HDR movie production

Supporting a wide range of HDR movie production needs, the α7 III offers S-Log3 as well as S-Log2 gamma curves, for great flexibility to fine-tune images as desired through color grading operation in post-production [1], and a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma)26 picture profile for instant HDR workflow. However, color grading is not required to enjoy instant playback of high-quality, true-to-life images [2] with no blocked shadows or blown highlights on an HDR (HLG) compatible TV.

Versatile movie recording functions

The α7 III provides a wide array of functions to facilitate workflows of professional videographers, including clean HDMI output, time code / user bits (TC/UB), rec. control, marker display/setting, zebra function, Slow and Quick Motion27, simultaneous proxy movie recording, extraction and separate storage of a still from a movie, and Gamma Display Assist function, among others.

Improved Fast Hybrid AF for movie recording

An efficient combination of focal-plane phase-detection AF and contrast-detection AF accurately locks onto even fast-moving subjects, then tracks them smoothly during movie recording. AF coverage for movies extends across an area almost as wide as the AF coverage area for still images, so once the high-density AF system locks onto a movie subject, the camera continues to track it steadily and tenaciously. Three AF drive speed settings give you freedom to use slow focus effects when shooting movie scenes.

My Menu and new menu interface

My Menu lets you register and arrange up to 30 menu items in order of frequency of use for instant recall, and unused items can be erased, as needed. A custom menu can be created to suit particular shooting needs. The α7 III has primary menus reorganized for easier searching, with group names and page numbers at the top of the displays.

Rating function convenient for on-location sorting

Ratings from 1 to 5 stars can be applied to still images and maintained as the images are imported into PlayMemories Home or the new Imaging Edge software suite from Sony running on a PC. This function and a protect function to prevent accidental image deletion can each be assigned to a custom button (C3 by default for protect). Ratings and protection can be applied via review playback display and continuous groups can be reviewed, protected, and deleted while you’re on location or traveling.

Promptly changeable customization

Camera setups can be registered (up to two in the camera and four on a memory card) for quick access via mode dial. Up to 81 functions can be assigned to 11 custom keys, and even sets of customized functions can be assigned for stills, movies, and playback. Recall Custom Setting During Hold function is convenient for temporary recall of shooting settings assigned to custom buttons while such a button is held.

High-resolution, high-contrast XGA OLED Tru-Finder™

Providing high resolution and contrast, plus the excellent gradation and color reproduction that are advantages of OLED viewfinders, this approximately 2359K-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder™ faithfully depicts images with clear corner-to-corner visibility. Magnification is 0.78x (approx. 38.5° diagonal FOV). ZEISS T* coating greatly reduces obtrusive lens reflection on the ocular lens. Start-up is approximately 40% faster than with the α7 II when the camera is switched on. Furthermore, view mode can be set to “High” to provide finer and more natural details by taking maximum advantage of the data read from the 24.2 effective megapixel sensor.

Touch screen LCD for easy instant focus operation

A 3.0-type 922K-dot LCD screen offers touch screen operation and bright, clear, finely detailed views even outdoors. Use Touch Focus to focus instantly on a point that you touch on the screen and Touch Pad to drag the focus frame with a fingertip on the LCD as you monitor the shot through the viewfinder. This LCD tilts up by as much as 107°, and down by as much as 41° for flexible, convenient camera holding and shot monitoring.

In-body 5-axis image stabilization with 5.0-stop28 shutter speed advantage

This comprehensive system compensates for five types of camera shake that tend to blur images: pitch/yaw shake when shooting at longer focal lengths; X/Y shake in close-up (including macro) shooting; and roll shake when recording stills at night and movies. It effectively achieves 5.0-stop-faster28 shutter speed, so the α7 III can take full advantage of its high-quality imaging capability and live-view image performance. Furthermore, it functions with A-mount lenses attached via mount adaptor, as well as E-mount lenses.

Dual slots with UHS-II compatibility

This camera provides two media slots for SD card (UHS-II-compatible for fast data writing) and SD card/Memory Stick, respectively. The memory card cover is lockable to prevent it from being opened unintentionally.

Unlike a rolling shutter sensor that records images sequentially from the top row of pixels to the bottom, the newly developed Exmor RS™ image sensor exposes and reads all pixels simultaneously so the camera can capture fast-moving subjects with absolutely no distortion. Combined with a maximum shutter speed of 1/80,000 second (1/16,000 second during continuous shooting)3, the α9 III is a game changer for professional photography.

The α9 III is defined by speed and accuracy, enabling it to capture decisive moments with ease. It’s capable of shooting continuous bursts at up to 120fps with full AF/AE tracking3, all without viewfinder blackout, and its highly advanced AI processing unit recognizes subjects with astonishingly high precision and reliability.

Preserve split-second moments

At 1/80,000 second⁴, the maximum shutter speed of the α9 III makes it easy to capture fast-moving subjects in almost any situation. What’s more, a compatible flash unit from Sony (such as the HVL-F60RM2 or HVL-F46RM)⁵ can synchronize at all shutter speeds, eliminating the steep, nonlinear drop-off in illumination that occurs with high-speed sync (HSS) and ensuring even illumination across the image.

The new full-frame global shutter image sensor is equipped with 24.6 million effective pixels², a stacked CMOS architecture and integral memory. This offers high resolution, overwhelming speed, and simultaneous full-pixel readout, so even fast-moving subjects can be captured distortion-free. The sensor’s stacked structure and advanced A/D conversion enable high-speed processing to proceed with minimal delay.

BIONZ XR™ image processing engine

With up to eight times⁶ more processing power than previous versions, the BIONZ XR image processing engine minimizes processing latency while markedly boosting image processing power. The high volume of data generated by the newly developed Exmor RS™ image sensor can be processed in real time even while shooting continuous bursts at up to 120fps³. This significantly improves image quality, from offering higher color gradation and more realistic color reproduction to reducing image noise. The camera can also capture high-quality 14-bit RAW images in all still shooting modes.

Composite RAW Shooting reduces noise

Composite RAW Shooting captures multiple images (4, 8, 16, or 32, selectable) which can then be merged using Sony’s Imaging Edge Desktop™ computer application software to create full-resolution images with very low noise.⁷ This makes it possible to shoot wildlife at high shutter speeds or portraits in low light, achieving exceptionally high image quality with low noise, even at higher ISO settings. What’s more, when shooting at low sensitivity levels, the α9 III can take advantage of camera shake that occurs during handheld shooting and use Composite RAW to create images with reduced false color and jaggies.

What’s more, the distracting time lag that is usually associated with EVF viewing has been reduced to a minimum, so that fleeting moments can be captured with confidence.

Up to 120 AF/AE tracking calculations per second

Let the camera keep track—the high-speed readout of the new image sensor enables the α9 III to make up to 120 AF/AE tracking calculations per second10, twice that of its predecessor. AF tracks complex subject motions and predicts sudden movements with greater precision than ever before, while AE easily responds to sudden brightness variations. The α9 III continues to track even during continuous shooting, also contributing to greater precision.

Never miss a moment with Pre-Capture
Pre-Capture records the moments that occurred before the shutter was released. Settable from 0.005 to 1 second¹², it’s available in any file format up to 120fps³ with full AF/AE tracking. This makes it easier to capture split-second moments, such as images of birds taking flight, even if actual shutter release is a little late.

Continuous Shooting Speed Boost
temporarily boosts the shooting speed while shooting bursts, ensuring you capture all the action. This is beneficial when shooting sports and other fast-paced activities when the timing of the key moment can be roughly predicted.

Real-time Recognition AF
With its innovative AI processing unit, the α9 III can use subject form data to accurately recognize movement. Human pose estimation technology recognizes not just eyes but also body and head position with high precision. This makes it possible to lock onto and track a subject facing away from the camera or whose face is covered. A distant human subject that occupies only a small area of the frame (even smaller than in previous Real-time Recognition AF iterations) can be recognized if the subject is near the focus area when the shutter is half-pressed while shooting with continuous AF. This can speed up focus acquisition on an athlete approaching from a distance at a track-and-field or ski event, for example.

Reliable recognition of a wider range of subjects
The AI processing unit supports enhanced Human, Animal, Bird, Insect, Car/Train and Airplane, recognition. In the Car/Train category, it is now capable of recognizing helmets, such as those worn by the drivers of formula race cars. Animal recognition can recognize the eyes of some grazing and small animals, in addition to the eyes, heads and bodies of dogs, cats and similarly featured animals. Bird recognition has also been updated, more easily pinpointing the eyes of a variety of bird types as well as recognizing bird bodies. Plus, a new Animal/Bird setting eliminates the need to switch between two settings to shoot animals or birds.

Wide, fast, precise autofocus and tracking
phase-detection points in a high-density focal plane phase-detection AF system that covers approximately 95.6% of the image area. The large volume of data read from the image sensor is processed at high speed via the advanced BIONZ XR processing engine, while optimized algorithms ensure high accuracy and high density. This Fast Hybrid AF system combines the speed and tracking performance of phase-detection AF with the precision of contrast-detection AF, reliably locking onto and tracking subjects that move rapidly and/or erratically.

Match AF tracking response to subject movement
Whether the subject is moving, still or changing speed, AF tracking can keep track. Simply select a setting [Stable], [Standard], and [Responsive], depending on the speed of the subject and shooting scenario.

Customizable focus area
Keep what you need in focus, with XL and XS focus area spot sizes added to the line-up. XS can be useful when shooting wildlife and trying to avoid focusing on foreground branches, for example. You can also create a custom focus area of specified size and even vertical aspect ratio if necessary. For example, at a track event where the participants are lined up side-by-side, setting the AF frame to a custom horizontal format could make it easier to focus on the leading runner.

Endless expression

Flash sync at all shutter speeds
With a compatible flash unit from Sony (such as the HVL-F60RM2 or HVL-F46RM)⁵, the α9 III can perform full flash synchronization right up to the maximum 1/80,000⁴ second shutter speed. This allows flash to be used for extra subject illumination when shooting outdoors in bright daylight with a high shutter speed, reducing the need for large lighting setups and vastly expanding creative shooting possibilities.

Flicker-free shooting¹⁶^{The global-shutter image sensor exposes all pixels simultaneously, so flicker cannot occur within a single image, but may appear between frames. To reduce this type of flicker, Anti-flicker Shooting or Hi frequency flicker-free shooting (Var. Shutter) functions can be used.

Uniquely flexible tilting monitor for enhanced shooting flexibility

The α9 III features a 4-axis multi-angle monitor that combines the utility of a conventional tilting monitor with side-opening vari-angle flexibility, allowing for unrestricted angle adjustment whether shooting vertically or horizontally. Slim, unobtrusive, robust22, the mechanism enables the monitor to be pulled away from the rear of the body and tilted upward by up to 98 °, downward by up to 40 °, and swung sideways by up to 180 °. The touch sensitive, 3.2 type LCD monitor is optimized for outdoor shooting, providing 2.1 million-dot resolution, a wide color gamut and ample brightness for clear, easy viewing.

New front Custom button
An update to the Sony’s α design, the α9 III comes with a custom button on the front for faster, easier operation while holding the grip. This makes it even more adaptable to different shooting styles and needs. For example, you can assign the Continuous Speed Shooting Boost function to the front button to allow instant speed boost when shooting bursts.

Excellent viewfinder specs and performance
The 9.44 million-dot (approx.) OLED viewfinder includes 0.90x²³ magnification with a 41 ° FOV for a clear, wide view, and an updated structure that results in a 25 mm high eyepoint²⁴. An original optical design minimizes aberration that can be distracting when looking around the viewfinder image, providing a more consistent viewing experience. Viewfinder and monitor lag time have also been reduced to allow more stable framing, especially during continuous shooting. The finder frame rate can be set to Standard (60fps), High (120fps), or Higher (240fps)²⁵. The 240fps setting provides an extremely smooth viewfinder image with minimum motion blur when shooting moving subjects, and greatly reduces motion blur when panning or tilting.

Workflow efficiency gets a drastic boost thanks to image groups. Images taken at up to 120fps³ in continuous bursts can be defined as “groups,” making it easier to locate a specific image within a large group of images. These groups can also be assigned a rating, which can then be used for filtering and searching, and are retained after the images are imported into a computer editing application

Built-in Wi-Fi for FTP and smartphone transfers plus PC Remote tethering
Built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11ac) with 2×2 MIMO support allows high-speed data transfer, enabling the α9 III to transfer data up to twice as fast as its predecessor. 5 GHz²⁸ communication offers maximum speed and stability, essential for news and sports shooters who need to deliver immediately, as well as for studio environments. The simple in-camera interface makes it easy to transfer still and movie data via an FTP server, Wi-Fi, fast-wired LAN, or USB tethering with a smartphone.

Clearer voice memo recording
Add clear voice memo metadata to still images through a dedicated voice memo microphone that’s built into the camera’s rear panel, close to the user’s mouth for better recording quality. Voice memos can be transferred to an FTP server along with the corresponding images, allowing the photographer to communicate effectively to the editor. The photographer can also use the Transfer & Tagging (Ver. 1.9 or later) mobile application to convert the voice memos to text²⁹
