CPL (Circular Polarizer), circular polarizing lens, is used to eliminate the polarized light. CPL can enhance image contrast, deepen blue and highlight white clouds. Meanwhile, it can eliminate reflection of non-metal surface(water, glass, etc.) as well as reduce soft focus in scenic photos caused by mist. A good CPL won’t damage image color when filtering the polarized light.

How to Use:

Fix the CPL(W) directly to the front lens, rotate the CPL and observe the polarized light source through the LCD or viewfinder, until the polarized light weakens or disappears as expected.

The 82mm Kase KW Revolution Magnetic ND1000 Filter is part of Kase’s color-coded KW Revolution filter system, which is based on their earlier Wolverine series and is fully compatible with Wolverine filters. The overall KW Revolution system features CPL and different grades of ND filters, all with color-coded filter frames for easy identification and swapping. The ND1000 filters, including this 82mm version, are color-coded red.

The filter is made with shock-resistant and water-resistant optical glass that’s durable and easy to clean, and that doesn’t cause any color cast. Also, in addition to being magnetic, the filter is front-threaded. This is one of the differences between the KW Revolution series and the earlier Wolverine series.

Ultra-Slim Inlaid Magnetic Adapter

While the overall KW Revolution features both a standard magnetic adapter and an inlaid magnetic adapter, this single filter comes only with an inlaid magnetic adapter. Very slim, the inlaid adapter screws into your lens in a very recessed way. It secures to the front filter threads very close to the front lens element and nearly hidden within the filter thread area. It hardly leaves any space between the lens and filter. This results in minimized vignetting with wide angle lenses when you attach the filter. The filter snaps onto the adapter magnetically. Up to four filters can be stacked in total, both from this KW Revolution series and from the earlier Wolverine series, and the filters can be freely rotated.

When your filters are removed from the inlaid adapter, the adapter doesn’t interfere with attaching the original lens cap to the front of your lens. Similarly, regular screw-in filters can be screwed onto the lens filter threads even with the adapter installed. Also, instead of securing directly to the lens, the inlaid adapter can be screwed onto the front threads of regular screw-in filters. The filter can then be screwed onto your lens, and the inlaid adapter will then be on the front of the filter, and you can then magnetically attach KW Revolution and Wolverine filters onto it. The benefit of this flexibility is that it allows you to mount the KW Revolution filters on top of regular screw-in filters that you may want at the bottom of your stack.

The inlaid adapter is not compatible with step rings.

There are a few ways to screw in the ultra-slim inlaid adapter. The main way is to first attach it magnetically to this ND filter, and to then screw in both by hand. Then you can remove the filter or stack additional ones onto it. You can also attach the optional Kase magnetic lens hood.
