  1. When shooting movies and operating the Iris Ring whilst AF is in operation, on rare occasions, focusing and aperture values could be inconsistent when using EOS R system cameras released before May 2024
  2. Important: The Voice Coil Motor in RF 35mm F1.4L VCM emits a low-level magnetic field. While generally safe to use, we advise consulting your doctor if you have a pacemaker or any other medical device to address any concerns.
    When the lens is not connected to the camera or when the camera is off may cause internal noise from the lens components. This is normal and not a malfunction. Minor movements during transportation do not affect performance.
  3. When used with Canon EOS R System cameras equipped with digital distortion correction.
  4. Iris ring is inactive for controlling aperture in still photo shooting when using the lens with EOS R system cameras released before May 2024.
  5. Although the lens features dust- and water-resistant construction, this cannot completely prevent dust or water droplets from entering the lens.

The RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is the world’s first 24-105mm focal length lens combined with consistent f/2.8 aperture.1 With its constant f/2.8 max aperture, full-frame coverage, and its ability to zoom past the traditional 70mm roadblock to a true portrait-length 105mm, this lens is an incredible standard zoom solution for many different applications. An optional, dedicated Power Zoom Adapter PZ-E2 transforms the video operation possibilities with its smooth and versatile zooming. Even in low light, this lens will excel for weddings and events, photojournalism, portraiture, studio work, and video creation.

Eleven Aperture Blades for Rich Bokeh

With eleven aperture blades and a large f/2.8 aperture, the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z produces a beautiful, almost circular bokeh effect — even when stopped-down. The wide aperture also allows for faster shutter speeds in low light situations and helps prevent subject blurs.

 

Iris Ring for Precise Lens Aperture Control

The RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z is equipped with an iris ring (aperture control), the first among RF lenses2.  This allows video users to manually control exposure adjustment and the degree of background blur while shooting video, with click-less, smooth operation — similar to the operability in a cinema lens.

2. Iris ring is for manual aperture control, and as of late 2023, is only possible during video operation, with compatible cameras. Current compatible EOS cameras will require a firmware upgrade available December 2023 for manual iris operation, during video recording.


Close-focusing to Under 1.5 ft., Max. Magnification 0.29x

With a minimum focusing distance of approximately 1.5 ft./0.45m, the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z lens helps you get close to your subjects. The maximum magnification is 0.29x at 105mm, allowing you to capture subtle details more expansively and clearly. Focus shifts during zooming are minimal — plus, it supports focus breathing correction3, in which the camera digitally corrects for changes in angle of view caused by focus movement during video recording, especially during closeup shooting.

Optical Image Stabilization

For consistently sharp results, the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z features built-in optical Image Stabilization, providing enhanced shake reduction for up to 5.5 stops of shake correction. When paired with an EOS R-series camera that has In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), the Coordinated IS allows for up to 8.0 stops of correction4. This means more reliable handheld performance and clear detail in low-light situations, without having to increase the ISO or decrease the shutter speed. Additionally, an IS Mode switch is featured for the first time among Canon RF standard zoom lenses.

Nano USM Maintains Focus While Zooming

 

The RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z features two Nano USM (ultrasonic motors) focus drive system, powering both its autofocus, and its “floating” optics which move independently to ensure maximum image quality. Nano USM provides quiet and smooth AF, especially useful during movie recording. In addition, the Nano USM maintains focus while zooming to suppress aberration fluctuations during high-speed burst or movie shooting.

 

Excellent Handling

With its fixed-length lens barrel design and balanced center of gravity, the RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z provides excellent handling for any shooting style and especially advantageous when using accessories for shooting video. The lens comes with a tripod mount that can be easily attached and detached with a lock release button, without the need of a special tool. Durable and Dependable Build

The RF24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z boasts amazing durability and endurance you’d expect from an L-series lens. The lens barrel does not move during zooming or focusing; both are achieved entirely internally.  Weather-resistant sealing is applied to areas such as the operation rings and switch panel to help prevent water and dust from entering the unit. Fluorine coating is applied on the front lens to prevent water, oil and other surface residue like fingerprints from sticking to the lens, which facilitates quick and easy wiping without the use of solvents. This dust- and water-resistant design allows for outstanding performance even in inclement weather conditions.

The RF10-20mm F4 L IS STM is a unique ultra-wide-angle lens that gives you corrected, rectilinear coverage to an incredible 10mm with full-frame cameras. Great for still photography and videography, the 10mm ultra-wide-angle effect is outstanding for its dramatic look, lending visual drama to your landscape, interior, architecture, travel, and even photojournalism images. This lens features true L-Series quality with optical and digital corrections for distortion, and optical image stabilization (OIS) for better low-light performance, especially when shooting video. Autofocus is handled by a tried-and-true STM-type focus motor which actually allows the overall lens design to be more compact while still providing rapid AF and smooth focusing during video recording.

 

 

In addition, this lens can achieve image stabilization correction of 6.0 CIPA standard stops* with coordinated IS. The front lens element is coated in Fluorine for added durability, so you can easily wipe away oils and fingerprints. Canon SSC (Super Spectra Coating, and advanced ASC (Air Sphere Coating) and SWC (Subwavelength Structure Coating) technologies to help reduce flare, ghosting and other aberrations. The optical quality of this lens is impressive with 16 elements in 12 groups, including one super UD element, three UD glass elements, and three aspheric elements. The design of this lens is geared toward getting the job done efficiently with light weight, fast focusing, image stabilization, and a programmable control ring. There is even a petal-type lens hood built right into the barrel of the lens.

Incredible Dimensions
Capturing images at 10mm is already pretty special, but to do it in a lens that is lighter and smaller than even our own EF11-24mm f/4 L USM is quite a feat. The RF mount design allows for the possibility of this wider-angle lens range and is also a key factor in the size and weight reduction of the lens. This also enables the addition of IS (image stabilization) in a lens that otherwise might not be able to have it.

Excellent Image Quality

Again, thanks to the Canon RF lens mount, the RF10-20mm F4 L IS STM lens offers great optical quality. Its optical design includes one super UD element, three UD elements and three aspheric elements (including large-diameter aspheric and UD aspheric elements) as well as Subwavelength structure coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC) to reduce ghosting. On top of that, this lens features the same dust- and water- resistance found on L-series lenses with seals around the Control ring, focus ring, zoom ring, operation panel, and lens mount.

The RF10-20mm F4 L IS STM lens has a lot of advantages and features when it comes to video. First, you can take full advantage of the 10mm focal length on full-frame cameras, and you can even shoot 4K 60p without crop mode. If you are shooting on an APS-C camera, you’ll have access to wider angles than you ever have before (coverage equivalent to a 16-32mm lens).  Another video advantage is the fixed f/4 aperture, minimizing exposure changes while zooming.
